About Me:
My parents and siblings fled from Cambodia in 1979, seeking refuge in a camp near the Cambodian border in Thailand. At that time, the Khmer Rouge resistances were still fighting against the Vietnamese-Cambodian coalitions. In November 1980, our entire family was brought to the United States by the Lutheran Church. We started with nothing. During my high school years, I helped make ends meet by cleaning the houses of elderly church members and bringing home used items.
In college, I worked at an antiques mall and fell in love with antiques and vintage custom jewelry, especially Bakelite. Even after I started making a good income as a software developer, I continued treasure hunting at places like Goldwills, Salvation Army, yard sales, and auctions.
I am fascinated by the intricate carvings of Bakelite, whether it's in jewelry or mahjong tiles. I have collected Bakelite accessories, jewelry, poker gaming chips, dice, mahjong tiles, and racks sets.
Unfortunately, due to a serious car accident, my health deteriorated and I became unable to dedicate 100% to my career in Information Technology in corporate America.
Thankfully, Etsy came to the rescue as a platform to sell my collection. I take great pleasure in responding to my customers and doing everything I can to ensure their satisfaction. I am grateful for the opportunity to answer their questions, search for rare items, and resolve any issues to the best of my abilities, even when the problems are beyond my control.
